She teaches English, AVT, and Translation at the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) and the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico (PUCPR). She specializes on AVT and court translation. Her employment history as a translator includes Netflix, Santander Bank, and the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico. González-Irizarry holds a B.A. in Modern Languages and an M.A. in Translation, both from the University of Puerto Rico.

In 2017, she received the Dr. Samuel R. Quiñones Award, granted by the Academia Puertorriqueña de la Lengua Española and the Graduate Program in Translation of the UPR, for completing the best translation thesis of the year. Furthermore, in 2018, she received the 10th Children’s Literature Award El Barco de Vapor, granted by Ediciones SM, for her first book, El visitante de las estrellas.
